Judges & Officials

Competitions are the pinnacle of the training and preparation for coaches and athletes, but what many people do not realise is that, a competition requires a significant force of officials and judges to make sure the events are run smoothly and expertly. FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur) is the international Federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and sets international competition rules and guidelines. Here in New Zealand, we have a pool of FINA qualified judges and officials available to oversee events and competitions. SSNZ is committed to the continuing education of the qualified officials, and regularly holds FINA endorsed Clinics for coaches and judges.  Our judges and officials come from varied backgrounds and there is training and support available for anyone interested in becoming a judge or official.
