North & South Island Competitions - Results are in & ALL CLUBS SHINE

17 Jun

Regional Competitions are over and across the country the gelatine is out of the hair, the routine togs dried and stored carefully for Nationals, and Coaches and Managers are hopefully taking time to breathe. 10 Clubs, and more than 135 competitors in total, took part in the 2019 North & South Island Synchronised Swimming Championships.

North Islands were hosted by Tauranga on the 7th-9th June 2019.  With 85 competitors from 6 clubs this was a very successful event - with all clubs placing on the podium.  Special thanks to Rosemary Pettit, Meet Manager, and the team behind her at Tauranga club.  It was a wonderful event with some great skills on display - from the Dolphins to the Senior athletes.

At the other end of the country South Islands were hosted by Phoenix Synchro Southland on Saturday 15th June. Four South Island Clubs were represented by more than 50 swimmers. Great performances in the water and lots of fun in the stands - everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A special thanks to Michelle Anderson, Meet Manager, and her team of supporters.

Thank you also to all the people that volunteered their time to be poolside officials and helpers at the competitions. The competitions could not run without volunteers and there are so many people that keep coming back to volunteer year in and out. Results for both competitions can be found in the COMPETITIONS & RESULTS page in the main menu.
